On Saturday 10th June 2017 at 1 pm is the Official opening of the new administration building (Stewards, Jockeys and Offices). This building was built with money from the Royalties for Regions, through Gascoyne Development Commission. RWWA and the club's own money. Tony Beard, Chairman of the Gascoyne Development Board, will be opening the building. Other invited guests attending will be David Hunter, Manager Commercial Racing & Planning (RWWA), Vince Catania MLA Race Club Patron.
Welcome everyone to the 2017 season. First race meeting will be this Saturday 13th May.Come along and see the Cups that Wayside (NZ) won Carnarvon Cup 2016 and Geraldton Cup 2017. Memberships are being sold at Barry Evans. Glenn and the boys have done at lot of work in the off season to make your day more enjoyable. There has been a lot of maintenance work in the stabling area for the visiting trainers. The grounds are looking fantastic. Gates open at 12 noon and there will be a free bus service to the races and after. Please do not drink and drive. Catch the bus or get a taxi.
A memorial service to celebrate the wonderful life of Carol Bateman will be held on Saturday 11th March at 3pm at the Carnarvon Yacht Club. Les & John warmly invite friends of Carol to attend.
Glenn Gregory and many willing workers have been repairing the roofing on the stalls and constructing 2 new wash down / vet / shoeing bays.
The Race club has demolished the old Jockey / Steward / Secretary building and is in the process of building a new Jockey / Admin building. Work has started.
The Race Club will be holding the AGM at Gascoyne Hotel at 11 am on Sunday 6th November. All members please come. Nibbles and drinks will be provided. Please text or ring the Secretary (0474 348 276) to advise numbers for catering.
The Carnarvon Race Club wishes to advise everyone involved with the Race meeting scheduled for Tomorrow Sunday 5th June has been cancelled due to rain. We will be running this meeting on the 11th June instead.
The first race meting was held on 7th May 2016. Weather was fantastic and the grounds looked spectacular (A credit to the Operations Manager and the Caretaker). The crowd was a bit down but the fields were good.
Next meeting is on the 21st May 2016 and it is a big one. Ladies Day with the winner eligible to enter the fashions in Perth in November for the chance to win a $25,000 package to go to Hong Kong. See you there.
